This week at Kowhai assembly Noah and Harriet received Kowhai Express Star awards. Noah got his for gaining skills in becoming self-managing and showing persistence and Harriet got hers for being a self-managing and engaged class member.
On Wednesday we went to the museum. Louisa at the museum taught us more about dinosaurs and fossils. We had to sort out a tray of things into fossils and not fossils. We learnt that there are four things that all dinosaurs must have to be one, they must have straight leg, walk on land, have scaly skin and hatch out of an egg. We got to see some big skeletons, there was a whole Allosaurus and the skull of a Triceratops and a duck bill dinosaur. At the end Louisa showed us a fossilised Stegosaurus plate, which a dinosaur had taken a bite out of and a very large claw from a dinosaur that used to eat fish. It was a lot of fun.
At School assembly Keira and Jewels got our Artisan awards. Keira got hers for participating fully in all classroom discussions and Jewels got his for making connections and developing theories about the life and times of dinosaurs.
